Susan Huebert, L.S.C.S.W.
Susan Huebert is a Licensed Specialist
Clinical Social Worker with two decades of experience working
with individuals, couples, and families. She co-founded
Child Therapy Specialists with Rhonda Hildreth in
2005.
Susan is a Wichita native who earned her undergraduate degree
in 1986 from Wichita State University and her Master of Social
Work degree in 1987 from the University of Kansas.
Counseling and Christian
Counseling:
Susan has been in private practice offering individual,
family, and couple’s counseling since
1997. She
works with clients of all faiths, however, she is a
Christian and particularly enjoys Christian
counseling.
Prior
Employment:
Before offering her services in private
practice, Susan was employed for ten years. She was employed as a
social worker by the State of Kansas, by Hospice,
Inc., and by the Wichita Public
Schools.
She gained a great deal of experience counseling people of
diverse ages, problems, and circumstances. She is especially
experienced in grief/loss counseling, therapy for behavior
problems, and therapy for depression, anxiety, and
trauma.
Play
Therapy:
Susan began private practice while she was a
school social worker completing extensive training in play
therapy with children. She works with clients of
diverse ages, but is most known among the professional
community for her specialty of therapy with
children. She
is one of a handful of therapists in Kansas who hold the
credential of Registered Play
Therapist-Supervisor. She has been recognized by
courts in Sedgwick, Harvey, Sumner, and Butler County as an
expert in therapy with children. In addition to her therapy
practice, Susan supervises other therapists.
